How Do You Register A Costa Club Card?
You can register your Costa Club card through the Costa website. This will need to be done before you collect any beans. Registering will also protect the beans you have if you happen to lose the card.
However, you don’t need a physical Costa Club card to earn or redeem beans. It’s much easier just to download the Costa Club app, which will allow you to both earn and redeem beans.

Earning Costa Club Beans
You’ll earn 1 Bean every time you buy a barista-made drink, bundle deal drink, drink purchased from a Costa Express machine or drink that you’ve bought from the mobile app.
You can earn Costa Club beans in store, through a Costa Drive Thru, at a Costa Express machine or by using Mobile Order. You can neither earn, nor redeem Costa beans when you buy via Uber Eats.
Earning Costa Beans In Store
Earning Costa Beans in a physical store is simple. Just show your Costa card (physical or digital) or Costa app to the cashier and they’ll scan your card.
Can You Earn Costa Beans At A Drive Thru?
Yes, you can earn beans when you shop via a Costa Drive Thru. Just scan your physical or digital card when you’re making your order.
Can You Earn Costa Beans At Costa Express Machines?
Yes, you can earn (but not redeem) Costa Beans at Costa Express machines but you’ll need the app to make it work. Just go to the app home screen, tap ‘Coffee Machine’ and scan the QR code that will appear on screen as your drink is being poured.
Your bean balance will be updated either immediately or in a few minutes. If you don’t have internet, your bean balance will be updated when your internet connection is re-established.
Can You Earn Costa Beans Via Mobile Order?
Yes, you can earn Costa Beans when using mobile order. Mobile order allows you to order through the app before you arrive at a store. After you’ve paid through the app, beans will automatically be added to your account balance.
Can You Earn Costa Beans With Uber Eats?
Whilst you can order Costa via Uber Eats, you can neither earn, nor redeem Costa Beans when you order Costa with this option.

How To Claim Costa Beans From A Receipt
You can’t earn Costa Beans from a receipt by yourself. You’ll have to go in store where a Costa barista can add Beans retrospectively from a previous visit. You have to bring the receipt of your previous purchase with you. This might be required if a system was down or if your app failed on a previous visit.
How To Redeem Costa Club Beans
10 Beans are automatically redeemed for a free drink voucher. This voucher can be used for any hot or cold barista-made drink with up to 5 add-ons including bundle deal drinks and drinks bought via the mobile app.
Costa Club Beans aren’t as flexible as the old Costa Coffee Club Points, which could be redeemed for food or drink at Costa.
Costa Club Beans can be redeemed in store, at a Costa Drive Thru and via mobile order but not at Express machines.
Redeeming Costa Beans In Store
To redeem Beans, simply get the cashier to scan your Costa card (physical or digital) then ask to redeem your Beans.
Can You Redeem Costa Beans At A Costa Drive Thru?
Yes, you can redeem Costa Beans, as normal, using a Costa Drive Thru. Just ask to use your Costa Beans when you’re making your purchase.
Can You Redeem Costa Beans With Mobile Order?
Yes, you can use your Costa Beans when you make a mobile order. Just select this option when you’re through to the payment screen on the Costa app.
Whats The Value Of A Costa Club Bean?
A Costa Club Bean is worth 1/10th the price of your drink of choice. Old Costa Coffee Club Points were valued simply at 1p per point.
You’ll earn 1 Bean per drink that you buy and you can redeem 10 Beans for a drink of choice.
If you want to be efficient with this new system, you’d spend less earning the Beans and you’d use 10 beans to grab yourself an expensive drink.
Remember, you can always boost your savings by using cashback or points-earning credit/debit cards when you make the purchase too:
For example, the American Express Rewards Credit Card (referral: earn a boosted 6,000 points) earns 1 Amex point per whole £1 spent.
Get Free Cake on Your Birthday With Costa Club
If you’re a Costa Club member, you can get a Free Cake Voucher on your birthday. You’ll be able to use the voucher for 7 days after your birthday too.
To get the free Costa Club Cake Voucher head to ‘Settings’ > ‘View and Edit Birthday’ on the app. Enter your birthday and you’ll be sent your voucher on that date. You can opt into marketing if you’d like to be notified or just set a reminder on your phone to check the app.
The Free Cake Voucher will shop up on the app Rewards screen. To use the voucher, just tap the reward and select ‘Use Now’. A QR code will appear which can be scanned at the till.
Do Costa Club Beans Expire?
Yes, Costa Club Beans expire after 12 months of inactivity. If you’ve neither earned Beans, nor redeemed Bean Vouchers within the last 12 months, your Costa Beans will expire.
You can check when you last used your card on the Costa app.
Do Costa Club Bean Vouchers Expire?
Yes, Costa Club Bean Vouchers expire 3 months after they’ve been issued. Once you’ve earned 10 Beans, they will auto-convert to a voucher with that 6 month expiry window.
