How To Join Lego VIP

You can sign up to LEGO VIP online, in-store or over the phone (LEGO Customer Service). There’s no LEGO Store app or LEGO VIP app.

If you’re completely new to LEGO VIP, just hit ‘Join Online’ then ‘I’m new and want to join VIP’ on the sign up page.

If you signed up to LEGO VIP in-store or over the phone and you want to access your account on LEGO.com, just hit ‘I am already a VIP member’ on the same sign up page.

You don’t need a physical VIP card but you can pick one up in store if you like. You’ll need to provide your email address so you can complete the sign up process. You’ll then be emailed a link to finish setup.

You need to be 18 or over and be a UK resident to sign up to LEGO VIP in the UK.

Is LEGO VIP Free?

Yes, LEGO VIP is completely free. The card is free, the membership is free, the points earning is free, redeeming is free. It’s free!

Physical vs Digital LEGO VIP Cards

When you sign up to LEGO VIP, you’ll be sent a physical VIP card which you can use to earn points in store. When you’re shopping online just make sure you’ve signed in to LEGO VIP to ensure you’re collecting points.

If you want to make your wallet a little bit lighter, you can use a digital VIP card. However, since there’s no app, the process of getting one is a little unusual.

Go to LEGO.com on mobile > Go to Account (Yellow Minifigure Head Icon) > Sign in > My VIP Account > Get a Digital VIP Card > Add

If you don't have either when you’re in store, just quote your email to the store associate and they’ll find your account.

Earning LEGO VIP Points - How They're Calculated

You normally earn 8 VIP points per £1 spent at LEGO.com or in-store.

Pennies are rounded up to the nearest pound.

Amount Spent VIP Points Earned
£1 8 VIP Points
£5 40 VIP Points
£10 80 VIP Points
£20 160 VIP Points
£50 400 VIP Points
£100 800 VIP Points
£200 1,600 VIP Points
£500 4,000 VIP Points
£1000 8,000 VIP Points

You can earn 100 extra points (worth 62p-£1.20 - see more on value below) by completing a few surveys and social media activities. For example, you can check out their Instagram and Facebook pages and fill in two short surveys, all worth 25 VIP points each.

You won’t get points for buying a LEGO gift card (but you will earn points when you spend with your gift card).

Can I Earn LEGO VIP Points At LEGOLAND Or Other Stores

You can neither earn nor redeem LEGO VIP points at LEGOLAND (eg. LEGOLAND Windsor). Similarly, you won't be able to earn of spend LEGO VIP points when you buy LEGO from other stores (online or brick and mortar).

When Are VIP Points Added To Your Account?

Points should be added immediately, as soon as payment is complete. Bear in mind that for online orders, payment isn’t taken until the product is shipped so your points won’t be added until then. It’s best to wait 24 hours until you go to check for the added points.

Can You Claim LEGO Points From A Receipt?

Yes, you should be able to claim points retroactively from a receipt or past purchase but only if you were a member of LEGO or LEGO VIP at the time. Just contact customer support (chat or phone is best).

Do LEGO Hold Double VIP Point Promos?

Yes, LEGO sometimes offer 2X LEGO VIP Points on all purchases, specific themes or sets.

When Is The Next 2X LEGO VIP Points Event?

There are several 2X LEGO VIP Point events throughout the year, however these aren’t advertised in advance. You usually only find out about them a few weeks or days before the event launches.

I’ll let you know of any upcoming 2X VIP Point events on my LEGO Deals and Promos page, which is updated on a daily basis.

How To Check Your LEGO VIP Point Balance

You can check your LEGO VIP point balance online or via the digital card in your smartphone wallet.

  • Check Your VIP Point Balance Online - LEGO Home Page > Sign in > Account Overview

  • Check Your VIP Point Balance Via Smartphone Wallet - LEGO Home Page > VIP Rewards Centre > Get Digital VIP Card

Can You Transfer LEGO VIP Points To Somebody Else?

No, you can’t transfer LEGO VIP points to another person’s account. However, if you redeem points for a voucher code, you can give that to somebody else to use.

How To Redeem LEGO VIP Points

Head to the VIP Rewards Centre and open ‘Rewards’. You can’t put LEGO VIP points directly towards a purchase online or in-store, you have to redeem them for a reward. However, you can redeem points for discount vouchers in store without having to redeem them online first.

There are a variety of VIP Rewards and a lot of them tend to be time or item-limited. Just go to the Reward Centre on your VIP account to find out what rewards are available. Here are some of the rewards on offer:

  • LEGO vouchers (£5 - £100) - The same voucher can be redeemed at LEGO.com or in-store

  • VIP Exclusive Rewards - Lego sets, desktop wallpapers, sketchbooks, print collectables, colouring sheets

  • LEGO Artwork - Artwork and patent designs from LEGO history

  • LEGOLAND tickets - North America, Europe, Asia and Dubai

  • LEGOLAND Discovery Tickets - North America, Europe, Asia and Dubai

  • LEGO House Ticket - Billund, Denmark

Can You Stack Multiple LEGO VIP Discount Vouchers?

Yes, at checkout you can stack as many LEGO VIP Discount Vouchers as you like.

When you redeem VIP points for one or multiple vouchers, you’ll get codes that you enter at checkout. Online, just enter your VIP Discount codes one at a time under ‘Enter a Promo Code’ then hit apply.

How Much Are LEGO VIP Points Worth?

One LEGO VIP point is worth between 0.625 pence and 1.2 pence per point.

Since you normally get 8 VIP points per £1 spent, you’ll get between 5p and 9.6p in VIP value for every £1 spent.

VIP points range in value depending on how they’re redeemed. See the table below for example rewards:

VIP Points VIP Redemption Reward Value Point Value (Pence)
500 LEGO Iconic VIP Set £5.99 1.2p
800 £5 LEGO Voucher £5 0.625p
3,200 £20 LEGO Voucher £20 0.625p
8,000 £50 LEGO Voucher £50 0.625p
16,000 £100 LEGO Voucher £100 0.625p
1,500 Stranger Things Sketchbook £10 0.667p
2,500 LEGO House Billund Ticket £28 1.12p
4,000 LEGOLAND Day Ticket (Europe) £29 - £40 0.725p - 1p

It’s important to note that aside from LEGO Vouchers, a lot of these items are limited offerings.

VIP Exclusive Rewards (eg. LEGO Castle Logo Collectable Coin, VIP Metal Key Chain, Stranger Things Sketchbook, Retro VIP Keyring) aren’t guaranteed to return if they sell out.

Since there are a variety of rewards, the point values vary. A £5 LEGO voucher, for example, costs 800 points. That’s a LEGO VIP point value of 0.625p. It’s difficult to value a lot of the rewards since a lot of them are digital (eg. digital wallpapers - 10 points) and don’t have a monetary value.

The LEGOLAND tickets vary in terms of point value because the VIP point cost stays the same (4000 points) but the tickets are all priced differently across Europe. For example, a day ticket at LEGOLAND Windsor costs £29, meaning you’re getting 0.725p per point. A day ticket at LEGOLAND Billund costs 359 DKK (about £40), meaning you’re getting around 1p per point.

LEGO VIP Points Value Calculator

Enter your LEGO VIP Point total in the calculator below to work out the value of your LEGO VIP Points. This is the value you’ll get if you redeem your LEGO VIP points for LEGO vouchers (0.625p/Point). You can boost the value of your points (up to 1.2p/Point) if you redeem your VIP points for specific, time-limited VIP Rewards.

Do LEGO VIP Points or Vouchers Expire?

How long do LEGO VIP points last? LEGO VIP points expire after 18 months but every time you earn or redeem VIP points, that timer resets.

When you redeem LEGO VIP points for LEGO Discount Vouchers, you only have 60 days to use them. You can usually get points refunded by talking to LEGO Customer Service but I’d still only recommend redeeming points when you have a purchase in mind.

You should get notified 3 months before any points expire but LEGO deem you responsible for your points.

Are LEGO VIP Points Worth It?

Since you normally earn 8 LEGO VIP points per £1 spent and since you can redeem your points at a value of 0.625p-1.2p per point, you’ll get back between 5p and 19p for every £1 spent at LEGO. A 19% return is definitely not a bad saving.

Even though LEGO House tickets, LEGOLAND tickets or specific item redemptions usually offer better value, redeeming VIP points for LEGO vouchers grants you a lot of flexibility. You can redeem your points at any time of year and you’ll get a direct saving on your future LEGO spending.

Remember that you can boost your savings too. Use a cashback or points-earning debit or credit card, like the American Express MR card (referral: boosted 6,000 MR sign-up bonus) and you’ll get more value for money.
