20 Valuable LEGO Stormtrooper Minifigures You Might Actually Own

Hundreds of different Stormtrooper minifigure designs have been released over LEGO’s long tenure with the LEGO Star Wars brand. Yet, only a select number are deemed collectible and valuable. Here, I’ll break down the top 20 and I’ll stick to minifigures that you’re likely to find in your own collection.

20. Imperial Shock Trooper - £10 / $12

The first Imperial Shock Trooper ever released, only Clone Shock Troopers, with their alternate helmet design, came before it. This minifigure came in the 2016 Galactic Empire Battle Pack.

19. Imperial Shadow Trooper - £10 / $12

The 2019 Imperial Shadow Trooper was a redesign of the 2007-2009 Shadow Trooper minifigure. This, more valuable version, has a minifigure head complete with face, leg printing and black helmet eye covers.

18. First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader - £11 / $14

2 white cloth caped First Order Squad Leader minifigures were released in the 2017 First Order Star Destroyer Set. One has a pointed mouth (SW0962) and the other (SW0872) a rounded mouth. Both offer similar value.

17. Sandtrooper Squad Leader - £14 / $17

Very similar in value to 2 other orange-caped Sandtroopers, the 2020 version in the Mos Eisley Cantina set and the 2007 version in the Imperial Landing Craft set. This version came in a 2019 Microfighters set.

16. Sandtrooper With Black Pauldron - £16 / $20

This black-caped Sandtrooper came with the 2014 Mos Eisley Cantina Set. It can be differentiated by the backpack design which uses 2 light bluish grey lightsaber hilt pieces.

15. Imperial Stormtrooper With Printed Legs - £17 / $21

The only generation 1 Imperial Stormtrooper with leg printing, there were 4 of these minifigs released in the 2005 Imperial Inspection set.

14. Imperial Stormtrooper (Black Helmet Squares) - £18 / $23

This Imperial Stormtrooper minifig was released in 2 sets in 2019. It’s much more valuable than the later version, released in 5 sets across 2019 and 2020 and can be distinguished by the black, as opposed to grey, rear helmet squares.

13. Scarif Shoretrooper Captain - £19 / $24

Any Shoretrooper minifigure is usually valuable. The Shoretrooper Captain, with one blue arm, was released in the 2016 TIE Striker set in the Rogue One wave of Star Wars sets.

12. Imperial Death Trooper Specialist - £20 / $25

The Imperial Death Trooper is easily differentiated by the helmet and all-black design. Don’t confuse this more valuable caped version, complete with detailed torso printing, with non-caped versions released in the 2018 Star Wars Advent Calendar and 2017 Trooper Battle Pack.

11. Scarif Shoretrooper (Squad Leader) - £21 / $26

Shoretroopers are usually valuable. This Squad Leader iteration can be differentiated by the two blue arms and was an exclusive polybag minifig.

10. Sandtrooper (Enlisted) With Black Pauldron - £23 / $29

Numerous black-caped Sandtroopers have been released over the years. Most are somewhat valuable but this version, distinguished by the helmet and backpack design, is more collectible.

9. Sandtrooper With Orange Pauldron - £23 / $29

This orange-caped Sandtrooper minifigure is the oldest version, having been released in 2004. The minifigure was released again for the 2007 Imperial Landing Craft set and whilst that version is also valuable, this one, complete with backpack, is worth more.

8. Scarif Shoretrooper - £24 / $30

Any Scarif Shoretrooper is usually quite valuable but this version with two tan arms from the Battle on Scarif set iis one of the rarest.

7. Sandtrooper Squad Leader - £25 / $31

Easily confused with other orange-caped Sandtroopers, the 2018 Sandtrooper Squad Leader can be differentiated by the helmet design (various forms have been released over the years) and black ammo pouch.

6. Sandtrooper Sergeant - £26 / $32

The Sandtrooper Sergeant can be differentiated by the white pauldron cloth. This 2018 version with black ammo pouch, which came in the Mos Eisley Cantina set, is more valuable than the 2012 Droid Escape version.

5. AT-AT Driver - £31 / $39

The first AT-AT Driver minifigure ever released, the helmet print varied in accuracy during it’s production across 2003 and 2004. Some had odd triangle patterns on the helmet. Don’t confuse this version, which has a yellow head, with the much less valuable black-headed version from the 2007 Motorised AT-AT.

4. Snowtrooper Commander - £37 / $46

Don’t confuse this 2021 Snowtrooper Commander minifigure with the less valuable 2014 white-handed version. Whilst a few similar Snowtroopers came with the 2021 UCS AT-AT set, the Commander (distinguished by the very slightly different torso printing) was a set exclusive.

The Solo: A Star Wars Story sets offered some unique minifigure designs. There were 2 Range Trooper minifigures in the Imperial Conveyex Transport set.

2. Mimban Stormtrooper - £47 / $59

Released in 2018 for the Solo: A Star Wars Story wave of LEGO sets, the Mimban Stormtrooper has exclusive printing and comes with a cloth cape, complete with hood pattern.

1. Imperial Stormtrooper (Chrome Silver) - £62 / $77

The Chrome Silver Imperial Stormtrooper was released as a Toys R Us exclusive promo polybag in summer 2009. You got it free with any LEGO Star Wars purchase for a limited time.
