What Does Discovery Plus Include?
Discovery Plus offers free and paid-for content. Their free channels, which show adverts, are available on FreeView too but a free Discovery Plus account will give you access to their 30-day catch-up service. You can also get Discovery Plus through Amazon Prime.
A standard Discovery+ Entertainment subscription grants you access to live and on-demand viewing of their premium channels, original Discovery+ content (aired the same day as the US) and box sets. A Discovery+ Entertainment & Sport subscription includes all of that, plus Eurosport 1 & 2.

Vodafone Pay Monthly customers and new Discovery+ subscribers can get 6 months of Discovery+ free via the Vodafone website or the Vodafone VeryMe app. Subscriptions will auto-renew at £3.99/month (added to the Vodafone phone bill) unless cancelled. Cancel via ‘Manage Subscription’ on Vodafone’s website.
12 Months of Discovery Plus Free With Sky Q
Sky Q customers can get 12 months of Discovery+ access for free. Say ‘Get Discovery Plus’ into your voice-enabled Sky Q remote to activate. You’ll then have access via the dedicated Discovery+ app through Sky Q.
EE TV Customers Get Discovery Plus Free
EE TV (formerly ‘BT TV’) customers get access to Discovery+ Premium free. UK BT, EE or Plusnet subscribers only. Follow the activation link on the linked page and use your ID to log in. Create a Discovery+ account and start watching.
Annual Discovery+ Basic Subscription
You can subscribe to Discovery+ Basic annually for £39.99 (£47.88 if paid monthly). There’s no annual option for Discovery+ Standard or Premium. Your subscription will auto-renew unless cancelled.
Andrew’s Top Ways To Save on Discovery+
If you’re not a Vodafone, Sky Q or BT TV customer (see above) but you have Amazon Prime, I’d recommend subscribing to Discovery+ Entertainment, Discovery+ Entertainment & Sport or Discovery+ Premium through Prime Video. That way, you can watch content from Discovery+, Prime and more in one place and it’s easy to cancel any time.
If you’re happy with Discovery+ Basic (no Eurosport or TNT Sports) and you want to subscribe for most of the year there is the annual option. However, consider that you’ll lose the flexibility that a monthly package gives you. It’s usually cheaper to chop and change your streaming services to minimise the amount you’re paying for at the same time.
